Save, publish, pause, resume, duplicate and delete

Understand which campaign actions are safe and what happens to existing public links.

Screenshots show the real application in an isolated demo environment with fictional example data. Setup notices and controls may differ by environment, plan and role. Click an image to view it full-size, and always use the values generated in your own workspace.

Save versus publish

Saving records the campaign’s configuration. Publishing makes the campaign available to delivery channels, subject to workspace status and plan permissions. A draft or restricted campaign is not a production timer just because a preview appears in the editor.

Treat each save to a live campaign as a change that may be visible at the next uncached request. There is no universal promise that a sent email will retain its old image after you edit the campaign.

Pause and resume

Pause is a delivery/state control, not a promise to freeze all deadlines. A fixed end date remains an absolute moment, and an evergreen window should not be assumed to receive extra time merely because the campaign was paused.

When you resume, check the current countdown and closed destination. If the underlying deadline has passed, resuming the campaign does not itself turn that old deadline into a new future offer.

Duplicate for a separate offer

  1. 1Use Duplicate when you want a new campaign based on an existing design and timing configuration.
  2. 2Rename the copy, review every deadline and destination, then save and publish it separately.
  3. 3Copy the new campaign’s generated code. Do not assume an old email image URL now points to the duplicate.

Delete only when you mean it

Deleting a campaign is destructive. References in sent emails, website code or landing pages can stop working or become unavailable. If your goal is simply to stop a promotion, consider pausing it and configuring the closed state instead.

Remove or replace public references first, export any permitted records you need, and read the confirmation before deleting. Do not use deletion as a routine way to refresh a timer.

Note. A public link is already distributed once you send it. Customers may revisit it long after your campaign launch.
